My first Birchbox is here!!

My very first #Birchbox arrived today. The theme for April is "Rainy Days" (which is perfect, considering the fact that it is ,in fact, raining today)!
With BirchBox, you get a variety of samples, deluxe size samples, and the occasional full size product. You pay $10 a month, which includes shipping.
Everyone's box varies a little, supposedly this depends on your personal preferences.Just like with other boxes, it doesn't seem like they really read your preferences..I think they really just pack boxes rather randomly. For instance, I never mark that I want nail polish with any of them, because i have a nail polish subscription. Somehow I always end up with nail polish in every box !
I am not complaining - I am happy with my box-I just have soo much nail polish now!!That's okay-I am going to start doing nail art, so all of the colors will be really useful for that! I do feel like you get your $10 worth in BirchBox-and they even included a food item-which is a nice little change for beauty boxes.

Here are the items I got this month: "Beauty Protector" Protect & Detangle Spray, "Color Club" Aquamarine Azulino Nail Polish from the Gala's Gems Collection,"Sumita" Color Contrast Eyeliner in Lanum (Deep Purple), "Supergoop" Daily Correct SPF 35 CC Cream in Light/Medium, & the Lifestyle Extra, "KIND Snacks" Healthy Grains Bar in Maple Pumpkin Seeds with Sea Salt.
I haven't had a chance to try any of these product yet, but I will try to do a review on them as soon as I do.
If you are looking for a new subscription box that has a bit of variety to it, maybe you should give BirchBox a try!I will put a link below.

Urban Decay products $5-$7 !! (& free shipping!!)

I have discovered the best place ever to get pretty much anything you want!http://www.aliexpress.com/...I buy almost all of my makeup from them now.It is so inexpensive that it just seems stupid to go anywhere else. Unless I want Kat Von D makeup- they don't carry her products yet.
It does take alot longer than ordering from Sephora, because everything is shipped from China. Personally, I think it is worth the wait when you figure out how much you save!!
Today I received 4 Urban Decay products: Naked 3 Extra Length Mascara (black), Naked 2 24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner(black), Naked Palette(12 colors), & Naked 2 Palette(12 colors)..altogether they cost less than $25!!Retail cost of these items:mascara:$20, eyeliner:$19,Naked Palette:$54, & Naked2 Palette:$54. So the total for all of them would be $147!!! ..definitely worth waiting a few weeks to be able to save $122!!
Urban Decay is not the only brand available on this site. They have MAC, NARS, Dior,Benefit, Too Faced, Tarte..and so many more. You have got to check it out for yourself! They also sell clothes, electronics, etc...
So, go check them out and have fun!! Make sure you knwo where your debit card is- you're gonna need it!!:-)

24/7 Waterproof Liquid Eyeliner $5.69

NAKED Palette $7.79

Naked2 Palette $7.06

I never thought I would own one of these palettes, Definitely never imagined owning all of them!!(the Naked 3 palette should be here any day now!) I hope you all find something you really want too! Happy Shopping!! :-)

Coconut Oil: Nature's Best Beauty Secret

If I could have only one skin/hair care product,it would be,without a doubt, coconut oil. It's naturally antibacterial and antifungal, it's an
excellent moisturizer, and unlike most oils, that sit on top of your hair, coconut oil actually absorbs, very quickly and very easily, deep into your hair.Mix coconut oil and olive oil together for a super-moisturizing face wash! You can use it as a shaving cream, You can mix it with baking soda for a nice, exfoliating face scrub, or mix it with sugar for a more abrasive scrub, for face or body. The best lip scrub I ever used was simply made of coconut oil and sugar! You can also apply it as a lip balm. Because it absorbs so fast, it doesn't feel greasy!!(and it tastes yummy!!).It is really good to use to soften your cuticles-warm it a little and soak your nails in it for a few minutes, then you can easily push your cuticles back! Use it to remove eye makeup- since it is antibacterial, if any gets in your eyes it won't hurt them!.It is wonderful to put on right after you shower! This stuff absorbs into skin and hair unlike anything I have ever seen, but leaves them so soft and moisturized. You can even use it to get rid of wrinkles !!(more on that below..)It truly is amazing stuff!!

When you go shopping for coconut oil, keep in mind that it is going to be in a solid form.
It melts easily in your hands, or you can put it in the microwave to warm up larger amounts.

Coconut oil has anti-aging properties!! As you age, your skin becomes less and less elastic. This is due to the fact that its collagen cells become less supple. The skin begins to dry up and forms creases. In order to get rid of wrinkles and fine lines, you will need to apply something that repairs the damaged tissue in the skin. This is where coconut oil is comes in.It restores moisture to your face ,helps to enhance collagen production, rejuvenates the skin cells in the epidermis, and attempts to restore its elasticity. Also, if your under eye wrinkles are caused by toxins in your blood, coconut oil will detoxify the area and help eliminate the crow’s feet, fine lines and dark circles under your eyes.

wrinkles around eyes before & after using coconut oil
You can find coconut oil in most grocery stores, in the baking aisle .In my store, it is on the shelf with the almond, sesame, and grapeseed oils.It is really cheap, considering how long a jar of it lasts(even when you use it for everything like I do!!)
Oh, and you can also cook with this oil-it is much better for you than other cooking oils, and tastes so good!!

So what are you still doing on your computer?? GO buy some now! If you find other uses for it, please post them in the comment section below!!

Drugstore Dupes

Urban Decay Naked Palette vs. We N Wild Naked Awakening

Urban Decay Palette is $54, Wet N Wild Nude Awakening is $4.99. With UD
you get 12 eyeshadow, with Wet N Wild you only get 8, but considering the difference in price, personally I could live without the 4 shadows!! Wet N Wild shadows are highly pigmented, but I recommend using a primer just so the shadow stays on longer!( I use primer with any eyeshadow!)..
Now, let's compare these shadows to see just how similar they are..I don;t think the decision of which one to buy will be a difficult one !!

Miracle 10 Skincare Travel Set

I recently won $135 worth of skincare products from "miracle 10".The contest was on Loose Button's facebook page.

I was shocked when I received the package in the mail, because the bottles were fairly large glass bottles.
Very nice.  On the site the kit I got is listed as a "travel set", and it does cost $135! I really thought it would turn out to be a scam, like  "get this if you buy this".. or the bottles would be "sample size".I was wrong on both accounts. I actually won a legitimate, expensive prize! Go, me!! ..

I have been using the products for the past 3 days. The first step in the regimen is the cleanser. It has a citrusy scent, feels sort of silicone-like on your skin, doesn't lather much, and rinses off really well. Oh, it also cleans your face well (should have mentioned that first, considering that is the whole point of a cleanser!) Next is the toner. It is really strong (and I am pretty sure they sent me the kit for sensitive skin!)-somewhere in between witch hazel & alcohol. Doesn't really have a scent, faintly smells of alcohol..stings a tiny bit when you apply it, but that goes away super fast, and your face dries really quickly. I love the way my face feels after using it!(firm and soft-if that makes any sense lol).the next step is different in the morning and at night. In the morning, your next step is to apply the light serum. This stuff smells SOO BAD. It feels nice on your skin, but I cannot get past the smell. It reminds me of burning tires.I am not kidding, it is dreadfully horrible. And the smell doesn't go away after it absorbs into your skin. SO your face stinks all day basically. You would think they would have found a way to make it smell better, especially for the price they are charging people!.anyway-moving on...
At bedtime you repeat the first two steps -cleanser and toner. After the toner you apply the AHA cream, and then the "night", which is a heavier moisturizer, but smells much better than the light serum. the nighttime routine isn't bad. Nothing smells horrible, and they all feel nice on your face.
As far as results, I don't think I have been using the products long enough, and not being able to use the serum during the day might also make a difference*. I know that I would definitely not ever buy skincare products that cost as much as these do, and I would not pay $1 for the light serum, even if it truly was some sort of "miracle" product as the name infers..just because of that awful smell.
I don't mean to sound like I am not appreciative of them sending me all of these products- I am very grateful.I even thought about not doing this review, because I am VERY TRUTHFUL in my reviews and don't hold back when giving my opinion of a product. .but obviously I decided to do it after all..
I am not saying not to try these products-the only problem I have is with the one particular product. There are 3 different types of kits to choose from- maybe one of the other 2 have a product that smells better?!..

* I have been using "Olay age defying antiwrinkle day cream" in place of the light serum

Kat Von D Makeup Line

I have posted about the Kat Von D Monarch Palette before, but this post is about her entire Makeup Line. Anyone that follows my blog, or knows me personally, knows That I am madly, deeply, totally in LOVE with her makeup. It started with  a single eyeshadow ("On The Road" Shade Shifter),
and most recently my romance with her line was rekindled by the Monarch Palette.
I realize   that I rave about her eyeshadows all the time, but I have failed to mention all of her other awesome makeup !!...Here are a few of them...

  •  Lock-It Tattoo Foundation
  •  Lock-It Powder Foundation
  • Lock-it Tattoo Concealer
  • High Voltage Eye Primer
  • Rehab Priming Elixir
  • Autograph Eyeliner
  • Foiled Love Lipstick
  •  Unlock-It Makeup Remover Wipes
  •  Lock 'N Load Makeup Setting Mist
  •  Immortal Lash 24 Hour Mascara
  • "Sinner" Eau de Parfum Spray
  • "Saint" Eau de Parfum Spray
Sephora has exclusive rights to her products, so that is where you need to go to see her entire line..You can also find some of her products randomly on sites like Amazon & Ebay.I check those sites for some of her palettes that were limited edition, and are no longer on the Sephora website.
I will tell you that all of her makeup is pretty pricey, but it is soo worth the money .When I first discovered her makeup line, I was like "No way am I paying THAT for makeup"!! But once I got a chance to try it, I realized that the quality is unlike anything I have ever tried before, and that in itself makes it worth a little extra $$!! The eyeshadows, for example, are so highly pigmented, and the palettes are huge and come with so many colors!! One palette would last you forever. The only bad thing is once you try any of the eyeshadows, you instantly want to get MORE, just because they are so freakin nice!!
I would love to hear from anyone that has tried any of these products! There are still a ton of things I haven't tried yet, so it would be great to get some of you opinions on them!!!
